JIANG NAN CHUN

 Singapore

The story of this restaurant in the heart of Singapore takes an inspiration from cultural region of China stretched along the verdant Yangtze River.  This area of picturesque fishermen villages was long favoured by scholars and royalty alike throughout the history of China.

Cultural heritage of the region, famed for its woodcarving and ink painting tradition, is reflected through the rich textural finishes and nostalgic colour palette with characteristic jade and ox blood accents.

Quaint touches of the river village life is subtly woven into the interior with bird figurines playfully perched throughout the space.  Fishermen basket ceiling installation brings about the feel of the rustic country life contrasting and highlighting the elegance of the surrounding interior.

Project developed with HBA.
